Contemporary Jewellery: A Precious Connection

I’m Crystal, a contemporary jewellery artist working from my Crystal Clarke Jewellery studio in rural Hartland close to the coast in North Devon.

I believe a piece of jewellery should be unique and have a connection, whether a keepsake of your favourite pet hair, a favourite colour, a favourite shape, a reminder of a wonderful place visited, a birthstone and no matter where you are, you can wear and embrace the connection of the beautiful jewellery piece.

I’m passionate about designing and making jewellery from raw materials. I love using and experimenting with textiles, silver, titanium, copper, fibres, yarns, wool, paper, natures harvest and more… I love colour, texture, patterns and shapes to create unique pieces of jewellery.

I use recycled and varied materials and source some elements for my designs locally such as the sheep and alpaca wool, natures harvest from country and coastal walks.

My unique range of handmade contemporary jewellery is inspired by living rural and close to the coast, from coastal and countryside walks, the changing seasons displaying their array of beautiful colours and textures that nature bestows on us

All my jewellery is designed and handmade by me, although some designs may be repeated, this still guarantees a unique piece of jewellery. I use my mixed media process to create my jewellery designs.

My jewellery designs are fully hallmarked with my personal makers mark (CC), this simply stands for Crystal Clarke. As well as my makers mark there is the date letter, metal purity, sterling silver mark plus the anchor denoting where the hallmarking took place which is the Birmingham Assay Office.
